Passion can go a long way in creating the person that you are in life. I have a passion for trying to make a difference one person at a time. As a professor, these accomplishments can be helping a students get a job or into a graduate program, helping an individual learn a difficult subject, or just advising a student and helping them make a career/personal decision. As a father, this one is easy. There is no better feeling than helping to shape 4 wonderful kids as grow up. The little things are the ones that matter, such as helping with homework, coaching a soccer team, or just sharing a night with my kids. As a husband, well let me just say that I am lucky to have a wonderful wife. I think Tricia makes more a difference than me, but we both share a passion for family. As a member of a community, accomplishments do not come bigger than with little packages (kids). I enjoy helping kids become active as a race director for a local kids triathlon. The joy that each child experiences is worth the hundreds of hours of planning. As a person, passion and accomplishments are self fulfilling. I used to cherish the ability to run farther and run faster. Now I just like to run. I used to love to win at every sport that I played. Now I just like to play, especially with my kids. I used to love to watch my teams win and hated to watch them when they lose. Now I just like to watch my favorite teams (even my lowly Detroit Lions). I used to judge my life on accomplishments, now I judge my life on memories. I think this expresses who I am better than a list of facts. |

Centrally located on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University is the department of Computer Information Systems. The department is responsible for providing instruction in quantitative methods and information systems. Computer Information Systems was established in 1972 as a department within the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited Jennings A. Jones College of Business. Since that time, it has continued to grow and is recognized throughout Middle Tennessee and the southeastern region of the United States as a progressive and competent program. In the department there are twenty-one faculty members, twelve graduate assistants, nine academic scholarship workers and seven work study students. Graduate Assistantship applicants must apply through the Computer Information Systems office. MTSU offers the Academic Scholarship and Work Study programs to those who are eligible. |

In 2012, I was the race director for the 4th Annual Try Boro Kids Triathlon, which was held at the Sports*Com on 8/25. We also held several other events and clinics throughout the year. We are looking forward to more great events that will allow our kids (7 to 14 yrs. old) get an opportunity to swim, bike, and run in a fun way. For more information go to www.tryborokidstri.org. |
