The Department of Computer Information systems offers the Master of Science in Information Systems.  The department also offers courses for the Master of Business Administration degree.  A minor in Information Systems is offered for students seeking a master's degree other than the M.B.A.  The CIS graduate coordinator serves as advisor for students choosing Information Systems as their primary field. 

Within the information systems concentration, we now offer the following specializations: “IT Project Management” and “Information Security and Assurance.”

Centrally located on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University is the department of Computer Information Systems. The department is responsible for providing instruction in quantitative methods and information systems.

Computer Information Systems was established in 1972 as a department within the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited Jennings A. Jones College of Business. Since that time, it has continued to grow and is recognized throughout Middle Tennessee and the southeastern region of the United States as a progressive and competent program.

  
In the department there are twenty-one faculty members, twelve graduate assistant
s, nine academic scholarship workers and seven work study students. Graduate Assistantship applicants must apply through the Computer Information Systems office. MTSU offers the Academic Scholarship and Work Study programs to those who are eligible.
