The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at MTSU helps two groups of undergraduate students prepare for and succeed in graduate school: (1) first-generation (neither parent has a college degree) with financial need and (2) under-represented (Black, Hispanic, American Indian/Alaskan native).

McNair provides $2800 annual stipend, GRE preparation, mentor-guided research opportunities, travel money for conferences and for graduate school visits. For more information, see Benefits for You.

To qualify, you must be a member of one of the two groups mentioned above, plus have a desire to earn a Ph.D. You must also have 60 credit hours and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. See Who Qualifies for more information.

To apply, just stop by our office at 103 Midgett Building to pick up an application or call (615) 904-8462. See How to Apply for more information.

We look forward to hearing from you!
